Voting is a method for a group such as a meeting or an electorate to make a decision or express an opinion—often following discussions, debates, or election campaigns. It is often found in democracies and republics.

Reasons for voting

In a representative government, voting commonly implies election: a way for an electorate to select among candidates for office. In politics voting is the method by which the electorate of a democracy appoints representatives in its government.

A vote is an individual's act of voting, by which he or she expresses support or preference for a certain motion (for example, a proposed resolution), a certain candidate, a selection of candidates, or a political party. With a secret ballot to protect voters' political privacy, voting generally takes place at a polling station. The act of voting is voluntary in some countries; whereas some countries, such as Argentina, Australia, Belgium and Brazil, have compulsory voting systems.

Christians, when you vote; do you get an assurance in your spiritman that you are voting correctly?
Q. Do you pray about it & know in your know-er that God is pleased as you vote? I believe God knows who the best President & VP are for US. So, do you feel you are voting with Gods direction, or on your own understanding?

A. I have faith that I am voting with God's direction. As Christians, we should long and strive to be and think more like Jesus Christ. This happens through reading about him (The Holy Bible), applying his ideas and ways to your life, and praying for a deeper and closer understanding of him. So if this is being done in your life, then it should reflect in the person you vote for. I also pray that I will make the decision that God wants. But I also understand that God is sovereign and the people put into office will be the people that God has chosen for his plan. That can get confusing sometimes. I never try to have a complete understanding of the way God works. Its just not possible. Now this is a simple response. It can go much more in… [cont.]

If the voting was held today, who would you vote for in the presidential race?
Q. As I asked, if the voting were today, with all candidates available to vote for, for whom would you cast your vote? Simple answers, just a candidates name, and please don't flame others choices or start discussing politics. If you aren't old enough to vote yet, please refrain from answering.

R U voting a 3rd party conscience vote because both Dems and Repubs are just too corrupt and smell like BS?
Q. Face it, voting for either one is what you think is the lesser of two evils, but how do you know? Are you then going to vote for a third party candidate?
Asked by Ben Thayer, Don Thatt - Thu Sep 4 15:44:22 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Many people who voted for Ross Perot felt later that they threw their vote away. Many were mad at Nader for taking votes from Al Gore. The only thing a 3rd Party vote does is weaken one of the two other candidates. In effect, you are voting for, or against, one of the other two candidates. Voting 3rd Party is a protest vote; a waste.
